A Trio of Christmas Cards by Amanda Pink

11:00

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my weekly post of Creativity.
This week I am sharing a trio of Christmas cards that are quick and easy to create so can be replicated en masse if you have a lot of cards to make.
All three cards are based on the same design using the same inks, stamp set and stencil. They differ only in the size of card I've used for each and of course the slight nuances you always get when you create something by hand.

The backgrounds are stencilled using distress inks. I placed Tim Holtz Layering stencil: Plaid onto a piece of white card, taping it down with masking tape. I then applied 2 colours of Distress ink through the stencil: Festive Berries and Pine Needles, applying them one colour at a time. I chose to work with traditional Christmas colours but you could choose any colours you wish.

I then removed the stencil to reveal the 'plaid' design.

As I was making three cards I repeated the process to create another stencilled panel. One of the panels I halved and used for the two smaller cards , the other I used as a whole for the long landscape card.

Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz stamp set: Festive Sketch provided all the sentiments for the cards which are stamped with archival ink and adhered to the cards on foam pads

25th Dec for one of the smaller cards

It's decorated with some red berry gem beads .

'Happy Holidays' for the second smaller card

Again, decorated with gem beads.

Finally, 'Merry Christmas' for the landscape card.

This is decorated with a stamped star from the same stamp set as the sentiments.

The star is coloured with Distress inks: Fossilized Amber, sparkled with some Ranger Distress Stickles and embellished with a red berry gem bead.  Sadly the lens has failed to pick up the 'sparkle' ... trust me, it does!
