Trio of Festive Tags by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
I continue this week with my festive makes and this week I have a trio of MDF tags. These tags are 2.4" x 7" and will be used on large gift bags that contain several gifts so saves me writing out a tag for each gift.

apologies for the quality of the photo I just couldn't get a good light.

Here's What I Did:

I started by making my trees and I wanted a very natural look so went for the Kraft card. I have used 2 different That's Crafty! 8" x 8" stencils to add the detail to my trees. I stencilled through using Finnabair snowflake paste which really glistens when dry even though the photo doesn't show it sadly.

I then cut the trees to size, you can also see the tags that have had just the lightest covering of gesso.
For the Mandala stencil I cut my tree out of the kraft card first and then stencilled the snowflake paste through the stencil.

The background of the tags were made by firstly smearing Walnut Stain Distress Oxide over the Digital Bubbles stencil by AALL & Create, misting lightly with water and then laying the MDF tag over the wet Oxide. Lift the tag and dry the ink with a heat gun. I then lightly sprayed the tags with Frost Lustre Spray followed by a light spray of Flat Matte Spray in Aqua and again dried with a heat gun.

To add snow to the bottom of the tags I used some strips of torn white card and glued them on. I then edged the tags in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Before adding the trees to the tags I wrapped the 2 larger trees with a natural string and added some bling to the string to make them look decorated. The smaller trees got given some snow using small adhesive pearls. Some Christmas word chips from Tim Holtz finish them off. These tags really glisten with both the snowflake paste and the lustre spray but sadly the photo doesn't show you.

Here's What I Used:
That's Crafty! 8" x 8" Stencils - Triangle Lines TC8034 & Mandala TC8014
Distress Oxides - Walnut Stain
Distress Inks - Walnut Stain
AALL & Create Stencils - Digital Bubbles #45
Natural String
Tim Holtz Christmas Word Chips

Have a fabulous week and I will see you all next Tuesday
