Instructions
I don't have any step photos to share with you for this project, only some details.
I worked with the same colours to prepare the MDF panel, calico, wings, Deli Paper and twig.
I began by preparing the panel of torn calico, stencilling with Light Texture Paste and the Mandala stencil, not stenciling the full Mandala design. I focused on the central element which was stencilled twice. This was left to dry thoroughly.
I then gave attention to the MDF panel.
I swiped some Light Texture Paste onto the panel. Next, I applied a wash of Gesso, allowing to dry before randomly applying paints. I did this by applying the paints I wanted to work with, onto a craft sheet and then taking the panel to the sheet, pressing it into the colours. It is very random and messy. The final colours to apply, using this same method, were White Fire and Antique Silver.
I rolled a twig into the remainder of paint, working on a craft mat. Adhering the twig to panel.
You might be able to see the various colours in this detail image.
Two of the greyboard wings were painted with Ivory before pressing the wings down onto the craft sheet, onto which I had spread some of the PaperArtsy paints and Antique Silver. Once adhered to the panel, I edged around the wings with Stabilo pencil, wetting with a fine paintbrush.
The Affirmation was repeatedly stamped onto the panel, stamping it again onto a piece of Deli Paper, prepared with the aforementioned paints.
The words were stamped onto a piece of Deli Paper and once adhered to the panel, I scribbled with the Stabilo pencil, wetting with a fine brush. To create a detail, I formed a circle with some of the most beautiful speciality silver thread, a gift from Dorthe Hansen.
Thank You, from my heart, for your support this past year, support which is never taken for granted.
Being part of this amazing D.T. is such a special role as is designing stamps for That's Crafty! I am already looking forward to returning here with my first post for 2019 and eager to see what creative adventures lie ahead for That's Crafty! in 2019.
Although this can be a difficult time for so many of us, I just want to wish you all a lovely time over the festivities, that it be kind to you and yours and here's to "Santa" being generous with stockings brimming with crafting goodies!
Merry Christmas!
Hope to see you here in 2019.
