Fred's Fishy Christmas by Fliss Goodwin
11:00
Hello!
I have a rather cheeky card to share this week to wish you all a very Happy Christmas. Fred has come out to play with 2 rather cheeky mice and the expression on his face is rather bah humbug and he looks as if he's been up to no good!
What I Did:
I made the background paper first by applying Distress Oxide inks to my craft mat - I used Scattered Straw and Victorian Velvet - misting them with water and dragging my paper through to pick up the colour. I repeated this after drying with my heat gun until I was happy with the effect.
I stamped the fish skeleton randomly over the coloured paper using the Scattered Straw ink. Once it was dry, I stamped the row of hanging fish several times across the top to resemble Christmas decorations (I think it works rather well).
I coloured the fish with Zig brush pens and doodled a little with a fine black pen to add some more detail to my decorations.
I stamped my Christmas tree, together with Fred and a couple of mice on smooth cartridge paper and coloured all the images with Zig brush pens, scribbling on an acrylic block and picking up the colour with a damp paintbrush. I then cut all the images out.
I distressed the edges of the background paper with an emery board and glued this to a kraft card blank. I added the images with double sided tape, tucking the mice behind the tree so that they're peeping at poor Fred and looking as if they're saying na na na na na.
I finished off with my chosen text using a stamp that came free with Craft Stamper a while back and is still a favourite for tongue in cheek cards.
Supplies:
Double Sided Tape
Kraft Card Blank
I hope you all have a really lovely Christmas and wish you all you wish for in 2019.
See you next year!
