Brave by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today using one of the new Katzelkraft stamps (available to pre-order), which I just couldn’t resist…especially the cat ones!!

What to do:

Using a size 8 manila tag, swipe a mixture of Distress Oxides on the craft mat, spritz with water and swoosh the tag through. Keep going and adding layers until you are satisfied with the colours.

Take a Tim Holtz stencil (scribbles) and spray with a little water then place the wet side directly on top of the tag, dabbing with a piece of kitchen roll paper. Remove the stencil, dab again with the paper and then dry with the heat gun. This gives a really lovely subtle pattern to the background.

Then using another Tim stencil (ringer) pounce through a blue Distress Oxide randomly on the tag.

Stamp the gorgeous cat onto a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media Paper and proceed to colour in with Distress Oxides picked up off the craft mat with a water brush. Just make sure these are well diluted as they can be quite opaque and you don’t want to cover up the features on your stamped image! Fussy cut him out and place to one side.

Using the That’s Crafty! Dinky stencil of a spider’s web, dab through black Distress Ink and then doodle the rest of the web, either adding a spider stamp or draw your own.

Stamp the cat directly on the tag as it has a lot of ‘fuzzy’ bits around it that are impossible to cut out so by placing the fussy cut image over the stamped one you still get those fuzzy bits!, Create a shadow around the cat and spider with some more watered down Distress Oxide.

Add a couple of Tim Holtz sentiments and there you have a very brave cat….or not as the case may be ;)
