Hello everybody. I hope you are all
having a great week so far. I am here with my usual post on the blog with an
MDF Upright tag with Beki, standing by the fence of that wonderful
place...Home.
Here's what I used...
Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint - Lime and
Evergreen
That's Crafty! Shimmer Paints - Pink and Purple
PaperArtsy Fresco Paints - Concrete and Little
Black Dress
Stazon Ink Pad - Black and Olive Green
Dreamweavers Embossing Paste
Polychromo Pencils
Posca Pens - White and Black
Picket Fence and Sign Die's from Stash
Here's what I did...
I began by sponging gesso over my whole
tag including the base. I could have skipped this step as I ended up using
heavy body paint which gives great coverage. I then took the two shades of
green paint and sponged them over the entire upright and base. Once dry I used
a pokey tool to scratch in some squiggles and swirls before taking my stamp
from the Textures set which is scribbled words and stamping it using the Distress ink randomly over the upright. I then took the smallest flower from
the Textured Flowers set and stamped that randomly using the Orange Blossom ink
pad. I did the same with the little circles element from the same set using the Grape Soda ink pad. I took the Motivational Words stamp set and used the Be
Free element to stamp at the top left of the upright using black Stazon, and
then took the birds from Lynne's Affirmations and stamped those at the top
right using Watering Can to give a more distant look.
Now time to stamp Beki. I did this using Versafine and then coloured her
in using the pencils. I did the same with the small flowers at the bottom of
the upright.
Once I was happy I cut all my pieces
out ready to place on the tag. Once I knew where she was going to be placed I
stamped her directly onto the tag using black Stazon and did the same with the
little flowers. I then glued my Picket Fence onto the upright. I stamped the
wording onto the upright using the Olive Green Stazon and stamped the word home
onto the little die cut post using black Versafine. I glued Beki onto the
upright and did the same with the little post and then glued all the little
flowers at the bottom. I took the two little butterflies and painted them with
the shimmer paints and glued those on too. As I am obsessed with doodling
little white dots, I did that using the white Posca pen and then added
highlights to Beki and the butterflies also.
I decided at this point that I wanted
to add pebbles to the base of the upright rather than leaving green so I took the Dinky Pebbles stencil and the embossing paste and spread it through. I then
heated the paste with a heat gun to allow the paste to bubble up. Once this was
done I took the PaperArtsy paints and mixed them together until I got the shade
of grey that I wanted and then, using a stipple brush, gently pounced the paint
onto the embossed stones. I then took a fine paint brush to carefully touch up
the sides of the stones where the white still showed. Bit tricky and hard to
cover it all but it gives quite a good look I think. Then once all complete
just fit the upright to the base. Beki is home.
Enjoy the rest of your week and see you
all again soon.

You created so many beautiful details, dear Bev, I love your pebbles , so wonderful, --and also the background with flying birds ---I just used the same stamp, for my next Monday piece, lol--- . Beki is beautifully painted and the sweet butterflies too. A summer dream, I could use here, where it is raining a lot today :-) Hugs, Dorthe, xx
