Live Gently upon this Earth...... by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday weekly post of creativity.
This week I have a journal spread to share with you. Although I have created art recently that could be used as journal pages I haven't for a very long time actually reached for my journal to make an entry. Shame on me! I also realised this week that my Distress Inks and Oxides have been much neglected of late so out came my journal, out came the DI's and DOX and the creativity began.....

To colour the pages of my journal I initially applied Distress ink using the 'Wrinkle Free Distress' technique. I then applied gesso with a sponge to create some texture

before returning to the inks, this time Distress Oxides, applying them again using the 'Wrinkle Free Distress' technique.

To create the rays in the sky I applied texture paste through Tim Holtz 'Burst' layering stencil, let the paste dry, repositioned the stencil and coloured the rays with Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic.

The flowers, from That's Crafty's Flower Collection 3 stamp set designed by Melina Dahl were stamped with Archival ink on watercolour paper and coloured with Dina Wakley Heavy Body acrylic paints . A white pen provided a few highlights.

The flowers were adhered in position across the two pages and grounded with strips of designer tape.
I stamped across the lower part of the pages using one of PaperArtsy's mini stamps designed by Seth Apter's with Archival ink to create the effect of 'blades of grass'.

To finish off I added some shadows to the flowers, some stamped birds and some small talk sticker quotes.
