Galaxy Gazing Bunny by Samantha Read

It's a very exciting day today at That's Crafty! HQ - at 6 pm today we have a One Day Special launching on Hochanda. There are some amazing new stamps and stencils designed by Melina Dahl, and some super new 'Slinkie' MDF surfaces, (if you do miss the launch show you can also see these new products again at 8 pm and tomorrow at 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm).
As a member of the That's Crafty! design team I'm very lucky that I get to play with products before they are available and above is just one of my Hochanda samples, it was wonderful fun to make!
What I did
I began with one of the new MDF slinkies and gave it texture suing one of the new stencils and some texture paste, followed by a couple of coats of white gesso, this helps keep the colours of paint true and not darkened by the MDF. Then I added colour, quite randomly adding some metallic paint for a lovely shimmer. I then used some pearly inks and walnut ink crystals for a little more background detail. The greyboard stars were painted after a couple of coats of white gesso using watercolour paints that match the stamped on white card and coloured moon stamp, and the bunny was also stamped on white card and coloured using watercolours, the flower addition to the bunny is part of stamp from one of the One Day Special bundles too.... all will become clear when you watch Hochanda or check out the new products on the That's Crafty! website soon.
What I used
Along with the new stamps and stencil I used:
That's Crafty! Pearl Inks - Red and Pearl
That's Crafty! Metallic Paint - Patina and Silver
That's Crafty! Multi surface paint - Ocean and Teal
(From my stash: Black and silver gelatos for bunny's shadow and watercolours).
I do hope you like it, thanks for looking! Sam xx
