Fill your Life with Colour.... by Amanda Pink

Hi Everyone

Welcome to my Thursday post of Creativity.
This week I have an Art panel/ card to share with you that I have created using just a few products- one stencil, some paints and a white pen! For me that's minimal supplies but as we all know sometimes 'less can be more!'

For the background I worked on an A4 sheet of white cardstock. I brayered a few different colours of acrylic paint directly onto the card (no gesso required). I had no plan I simply created freely and selected the colours quite randomly. I didn't always dry after each colour application which resulted in some lovely colour blending and overlay and as always when you use a brayer to apply paint you get some great 'instant' detail.

From the brayered A4 sheet of card I cut a panel to the required size and then stencilled repeatedly using black acrylic paint through my stencil of choice. Once the panel was covered with grungy black circles I added some white pen highlights to the circles and the odd doodle here and there.
The panel was mat n layered - firstly onto a That's Crafty! 6x6 White greyboard panel covered with white card and then onto a panel of black cardstock.

I wanted the centre circle on the background panel to have some slight dimension so using a piece of the leftover brayered card I stenciled 3 more circles outlined them with white pen and then fussy cut them out. The first circle I cut the whole circle out, the second the inner two circles and the third only the centre circle. These were then decoupaged in place using sticky foam pads.

To finish off I added a few words stamped onto white card using Archival ink.

I used one word stamp divided in two so when adhered in place it gives balance to the overall design .

  3. This is SO clever, Amanda. I never would have guessed how it was made, I thought it was black card, I wouldn't have thought of black stencilling. And then the whute doodling is brilliant and so effective. Love it!
