Feeling a bit ‘Parched’ by Shellie Blow

11:00

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Shellie is joining our blog team full time!

Parchment craft......... not just for grids and tracing patterns. It seems like That’s Crafty! And Carabelle Studio stamps are just made for parching.

I started by stamping the Campanula, grass, and leaves onto parchment using a white pigment ink.

After embossing, pricking, and snipping, I turned the pieces over and painted them using That’s Crafty! Pearl inks, which are perfect for parchment as they dry quickly so don’t don’t buckle it.

Next, I stamped the large wordy leaf frond onto watercolour paper and coloured it using Zig watercolour pens. Then I sprayed water to mute and blur the colours. It’s interesting how the colour seams to gravitate towards the Versafine stamping ink.

After cutting to size, adding more watercolour to the edges, and spritzing, it was matted onto white card. Then it was time to start putting everything together. A kraft card blank was firstly matted with a piece of neutral cardstock, then I stuck the leaf topper in place.

Using That’s Crafty! All Purpose Craft Glue I stuck the parchment pieces in place, finishing off with a small sentiment to cover the stem ends.

Thank you for visiting. I will be seeing you regularly from now-on......... I’m honoured to have been asked to join the blogging team permanently. Of course I said yes, so Mondays will continue to be exciting for me, and hopefully you’ll enjoy them too.
