Dragonfly Dreams by Fliss Goodwin

Hello!

I hope you caught the shows on Hochanda on Wednesday and yesterday where That's Crafty! had an amazing One Day Special with lots of amazing new stamp and mask designs from our ever talented Melina. I was really lucky to get several stamp sets to play with and I'm sharing a card with you this week with the stunning dragonfly image that was such a big hit on the shows.

What I Did:

I began my sample making by playing with the new mask designs and various spray inks as I always find making backgrounds tends to kick start my creativity and it certainly worked this time as I found it quite hard to stop!

I cut a piece of smooth cartridge paper to fit my chosen square card blank and placed the new Lots of Circles mask on top. I actually find I really like masks as you don't get the edges that you can get when using a stencil although sometimes that can be an advantage as I'll show next week.

I used the aqua flat matte spray first, following up with lime and lilac lustre sprays, just misting on randomly. Very easy to do and after removing the mask you have an instant background as shown above.

I stamped the dragonfly on a scrap of ink spray overflow paper (I find these endlessly useful) with shades of green, orange and yellow on using black pigment ink and heat embossed the image with sparkly embossing powder. I then cut the image out.

I stamped the dreams text on white card using black ink and cut out individual word tiles. I assembled the card as you see, using dimensional glue for the dragonfly and bending the wings slightly to give life to it.

Supplies:

Sparkly Embossing Powder
Smooth White Cartridge Paper

If you didn't catch the shows, there's always rewind and definitely worth a look for fabulous and inspirational demos from Jo Channon and lots of samples from the Design Team.

Have a great and hopefully crafty weekend and see you next week.
