Let Nature be your Calming Breath by Helen Chilton

11:00

This project didn't turn out at all as I'd planned, not surprising as I started it without a definite idea in mind! The leaf stencil seemed appropriate for late Autumn and then I found some calico lying about. The lovely soft Autumn colour sprays just finished it off!

I've used A5 journal pages for the base, made from white board.

Instructions:

Spray straight onto the white board through the Plaid stencil without painting or gessoing first:

Then quickly flip the stencil over and print it onto the other page:

It ends up like this: The white board is very porous so you get a lovely soft effect. I went on and added some more Blueberry and some Autumn Gold in the corners:

Then I sprayed through the leaf stencil with Maple and Autumn Gold onto plain calico:

and onto Blackberry and Autumn Gold coloured calico:

Then I cut some of the leaves out and tore other pieces of calico to fit my two pages.

Finish off with texture stamping round the edges, doodling, gold Stickles, sequins, stitching and gold thread (and anything else you want to throw at it!)

These journals are great for this kind of project - a good size and strong enough to take lots of spraying and paint.

Enjoy!
Helen
