My Favourite Monster by Fliss Goodwin

Hi
there, I have a rather zingy door hanger to share this week perfect for your
own favourite little monster. I couldn’t resist inking up my new favourite
PaperArtsy stamp set as these images are just adorable.
Ingredients:
Archival Ink – Fern Green, Jet Black
Recipe:
First
paint the door hanger with the orange paint, it doesn’t have to be perfect as
there’s going to be a lot of layered stamping on top!
When
the paint was dry, I stamped on the larger circular design with the bright
orange ink. I followed this with the smaller circular stamp and the fern green
ink. To tone down the brightness a little, I stamped the larger circle image
again all over using the white gesso.
I
then stamped my 2 chosen monsters on the stamping card using black ink and
coloured the images with Promarkers in various shades. I wanted a strong
contrast to my background so used mainly blue, green and purple.
I
cut out the whole of the shorter monster and just parts of the tall monster. I
stamped the tall monster directly on the door hanger using the black ink and
then glued on the body hands and feet. This saves having to cut out the legs
and arms, which I felt would lose some of the crisp detail.
I
glued the second monster in place and then added a sticker from the book, which
I cut in half. I couldn’t believe the perfect words – it just goes to show how
versatile this particular sticker book is!
We
have a new challenge for you today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so
don’t forget to check it out at 8am. There’s a great theme and a chance to win
a fab prize if you enter.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
