I Believe in Gratitude by Lynne Moncrieff
00:00
Many
moons ago I began my first Gratitude Journal, I was probably in my late 20s
when I read Sarah Ban Breathnach’s Simple Abundance. On seeing
PaperArtsy’s Everything Art EEA03, the words “I believe in gratitude” jumped
out at me. This
week I am sharing a simple A5 journal, a gratitude journal.
Supplies
PaperArtsy Everything Art Stamp Sets - EEA02, EEA03
Black
Stabilo Watersoluble Pencil (substitute with crayon or watercolour pencil)
Idea-ology
Photo Booth, Ruler Ribbon
Extras:-
Red Roisin Paper (substitute with any strong paper – kraft, etc), Re-cycled
brown packing paper, Spotty Ribbon
Instructions
Dry
brush Gesso onto cover of the notebook and onto red roisin paper.
Stamp
Finnabair circles and Everything Art sentiment and abstract circles onto the
prepared paper. Fussy cut the circles,
adhering to the cover. Scribble around
the circles with the watersoluble pencil, lightly adding water with fine paintbrush.
Tear
around the sentiment and circles. Create
a focal with a Photo Booth image, the stamped elements, ribbon and washi
tape. Doodle onto the Photo Booth image
and add white paint pen dots to the circles.
Onto a
piece of re-cycled brown packing paper, stencil Be grateful. Open front cover of notebook and adhere this
panel to the first page, adding pieces of washi tape.
Until
next time,
Wishes
Lynne

What a great journal cover. I like that you recycle paper, ribbons and other bits of paraphernalia to add to your art work. These bits and pieces make your work very interesting. Journals are my very favorite thing to make. I like to use brown recycled paper, too. The circles on the cover really contrast with the square photo. This cover just invites one to open the journal to the adventure inside. Thank you for sharing with us, Lynne. Inkybru xx
