Roses In Bloom by Fliss Goodwin
00:00
Hi
there, this week I’m sharing a very feminine card with roses galore as I’ve
used them on the background as well as my tag. Great for the ladies in your
life, be they friends or relatives and suitable for many occasions with a
simple change of text.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – I used the Penny and Serena sets
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – Blush, Guacamole
Iridescent
Watercolour Paints such as Cosmic Shimmer
Card
Blank – mine is 7x7 inches
Extras
– Scrap of pink crochet ribbon, scrap of green crochet ribbon, scrap of manila
card
Recipe:
Cut
a piece of mixed media paper to fit your chosen card blank. Colour with a wash
of the Guacamole paint. Using the grey Archival ink stamp on just the heads of
the roses randomly on the painted paper, leaving gaps. Stamp leafy sprigs in
between with the same ink.
Colour
the roses and leaf sprigs with watercolour pencils using soft pinks and yellow
on the flower heads. Use the craft pick and ruler to piece holes around the
edges of the decorated paper and make faux stitches with the black pen.
Distress the edges and glue to the card blank.
Stamp
2 roses and 3 of the leaves from the Serena stamp set on stamping paper with
the VersaFine ink and heat emboss with the clear powder. Paint the images with
iridescent paints using slightly stronger shades than the background paper,
then cut them out.
I coloured
the manila tag very gently by applying the blush paint to the Gelli plate then
pressing on the Harlequin stencil to add a pattern. When you press the tag on
you get a very soft textured look which makes a lovely background for the
roses.
I
added the roses to the tag with foam tape for dimension and glued pink lace
across the bottom, tying green ribbon through the hole at the top. I then added
the tag to the background with more foam tape. I stamped my chosen text on a
scrap of manila card with the grey Archival ink and glued this to the card to
finish.
We
have a new challenge for you today at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so don’t
forget to check it out at 8am to see how you can win a great prize.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
