Hi Everyone

For my make this week I have been playing with the smaller shaped gel press shapes and a stencil.

Here’s What I Did:-

I started by making a background piece using one of the new shaped Gel Press shapes, hexagon on this occasion but you get the choice of 3 shapes in a pack. I mounted my Gel Press hexagon onto an acrylic stamping block and then brayered a colour of Dylusions paint onto it, then lifted some of the paint off to create texture using some of the foam stamps I had made die cutting from craft foam (detailed in my post a couple of weeks ago). I repeated this in various colours and used the Gel Press as a stamp, when you pop it onto an acrylic block it makes it so much easier to place where you need it. I ended up with a patchworked background.

Over that I then stencilled the woman with black Archival ink applied with Cut and Dry foam. At this point the background of the face was the gel pressed hexagons which I didn’t want. I then painted out the entire face with DecoArt white paint as you can see this is extremely opaque and has totally taken out the background colour. To put the facial details back in, carefully line up the stencil with the parts that are still there. Once I was happy with the replacing of it I taped it in place as I didn’t want any movement, and then stencilled again with black Archival ink and Cut and Dry Foam to put the facial details back in.

Finally finished with a stamped sentiment which I stamped directly onto the background and then again on white paper so I could cut out a few of the letters which I stuck over to add some white into the text.

Finished by matting onto black card and adding to a card blank.

What I Used:-

Hope you liked it and I’ll see you next Tuesday
