Instructions
The Slit Book structure (I referred to the wonderful book, Bound by Rachel Hazell) is a simple book to create.
In my pile of stained/dyed/eco dyed papers, I had tea bag paper, previously stained with walnut ink crystals. I had also randomly applied some Interference Gold Paint to the paper.
Eight panels were torn, so they would fit the face of each page. First, brush the Liquid Acrylic Wax onto the book surface, the teabag paper was then laid down, smoothed to avoid air bubbles before applying a top layer of the Liquid Acrylic Wax. This was repeated for all eight panels.
Spring: The stamped Season label was layered to pieces of stained Rice and Tea bag paper, topped with a piece of speciality paper, with marks in the form of hand-stitches.
Summer: This time a Carved Leave is the focal, with the stamped Summer label layered to the stem, again with hand-stitches appearing.
Central Pages
Layers of scrunched papers, all either stained with Flat Matte Sprays, Walnut Ink Crystals or Eco Dyed, with Liquid Acrylic Wax applied to them. An Affirmation rests on top of them.
Autumn: The Carved Leave appears again.
Winter: I chose lighter stained papers.
