Beautiful Nature Journal by Samantha Read
11:00
Hello! Well I've never managed to keep a diary or journal, ever and I keep thinking it would be a good idea but never seemed to find the time to start, until recently!
The new journals that were recently on Hochanda are brilliant, they have hard covers that can take a lot of abuse lol and the pages are excellent quality also.
What I did
I covered the front of the journal with a generous layer of texture paste and then using Lynne's Carved Leaves I stamped directly in to the paste - I do recommend washing your stamp immediately! - pressing just enough to leave an impression without revealing the cover beneath. When the paste was dry I painted with and sprayed spays, whilst adding some arty splats using Pearl Inks.
I finished with a layer of Liquid Acrylic Wax that adds a lovely sheen but also seals the water based sprays and the wax is also a great medium for embedding things in, such as leaf skeletons. To finish my journal I added a little text and ribbons.
