I hope you caught the Hochanda shows yesterday as if you did you'll have seen all the fabulous new goodies from That's Crafty! including some more artist trading coin stamps from the very talented Melina together some some more fantastic substrates and round Dinky stencils.
I was lucky enough to have one of the gorgeous new stamp sets to play with along with some of those new stencils and I'm delighted to be able to share my samples with you today. I don't have lots of process photos so will describe what I did and then list the ingredients for each one as they were created mostly using the same technique.
Background Technique
I used the MDF artist trading coins for these as you can throw quite heavy media at them and they're so strong they will take it all.
I covered them first with a layer of gesso to give tooth for the subsequent paint layers. I then used a new Dinky stencil on 4 of them with texture paste to add a pattern. Once it was dry, I painted them all (including the plain one) with various shades of multi surface paints. I then sprayed on a mix of flat matte and lustre sprays to give some texture and shimmer.
The plain coin was stamped with that gorgeous texture image from the stamp set with VersaFine Imperial Purple ink and heat embossed with clear powder. Can you see how well it matches the group of toadstools.
I stamped my images on smooth cartridge paper, stamping them all 2 or 3 times so that I could layer them up. They were painted with flat matte sprays which I spritzed on an acrylic block and Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I cut them out and layered them up with dimensional glue then added glitter glue for some bling.
I edged all of the coins with bronze multi surface paint using a finger.
This one uses orange multi surface paint, walnut flat matte spray and gold lustre spray with the petals dinky stencil
This uses lime multi surface paint, basil flat matte spray and lime lustre spray with the texture stamp from the stamp set
Here I used lavender multi surface paint with blackberry flat matte spray and lilac lustre spray with the puzzle dinky stencil
This one uses teal multi surface paint with aqua flat matte spray and aqua lustre spray with the shattered dinky stencil
Finally this one uses bright blue multi surface paint with blackberry flat matte spray, lilac and aubergine lustre sprays with the geo dinky stencil
As you can see, I've gone for a strong contrast to really make those gorgeous images pop.
