Time Flies by Dorthe Hansen

11:00

Hello all, time flies, and it is Monday once again - so here is my Monday blog post.

I love Laura's Surfaces MDF Hearts and have been so lucky, to be gifted some from my dear friend, Lynne.

I started by giving it a light coat of gesso and when it had dried, I sprayed first with Infusions Sleight Blue and after, lightly with Brusho Light Brown. Letting it dry, I used the same two components to spray onto the beautiful embellishments of a dragonfly and a big watch. They were laid aside and I added Archival ink Hydrangea to the heart - to all the edges and the top.

After, the Wave Circles Dinky stencil was used, also together with the Hydrangea ink, to add interest in top right corner and in the lower part of the heart too.

I found two remnants from the clock face, which I also sprayed with the Brusho and the Infusions and after it dried, I stamped the little flower from Donna's Quirky Girls collection “BEKI” onto both and also on the left side top of the heart and one on the bottom right side.

They were all painted with the new beautiful Shimmer paints in Blue, Green and Pearl and also with Metallic Silver. You can see the shimmer here. Details were drawn with black and white Sharpies.

Then it was time, to paint the dragonfly and the clock. For both I used the lovely Shimmer Blue paint and also the Metallic Silver. I also used Texture Stamps Set 2, to add details to the wings of the dragonfly. When dried I went over with a white Sharpie to make the details more visible.  On the clock I only painted here and there with the Blue Shimmer, for a more diffuse look, which I like.

A lovely blue stone from a piece of jewelry was added to the middle wheel and white Sharpie gave more details to the wheel.

Before adhering clock and dragonfly, I added a piece of green nylon fabric, so he had something to land onto J The two MDF remnants with flowers were adhered too, which finished my piece.
