Nature`s ART by Dorthe Hansen

11:00

Hello all, I`m back with my number two project, as a member of this lovely group.

Starting with That's Crafty! wonderful MDF tag, I added gesso to it and after dried, I filled spray bottles with very diluted Infusions, Rusty Car, Slime and Royal Blood, each in it's own bottle and sprayed the surface using them, one after one and drying in between each new layer.

I then stenciled the dragonflies (the Slime green ones) using texture paste, directly to the tag, let them dry and then painted onto them with Infusion Slime, then I stenciled two dragonflies, this time using Archival Ink Leaf Green, which I also used to stamp the crackle effect around the edges, and Archival Ink Coffee for the lovely text, from Texture Stamp, Set 1.

Having the spray bottle with the diluted Slime, I also stained some laces and baby wipe, for later use.

A piece of paper was stained with Infusions Rusty Car and Slime and laid to dry. When dry I stamped Donna`s lovely flowers from Quirky Girls collection 'Beki', both the big and the small flowers. Also the ART from the Inspirational Words stamp, was stamped with Archival Ink Coffee, onto the prepared paper.

When dry, I fussy cut flowers and torn out the stamped 'ART'.

Before adding the flowers to the background, I adhered a piece of real bark, found on the ground. I stamped the stems with leaves and adhered the flowers.

A torn baby wipe and a piece of lace fence were added to the button and two little flower heads, one onto the baby wipe and on top of a piece of lace, next to the dragonflies.

A coat of Diamond Glaze was lastly added to small flower heads, the texture paste dragonflies and the edge of the big flower head, unfortunately it is so difficult to see on the photos.

Materials used:

Other: Archival Ink Pads - Coffee & Leaf Green, lace, baby wipe, piece of paper, glue stick, spray bottles

  5. Dorthe, When I look at this, I see you venturing into a bolder style but with all the little "Dorthe" touches - the bark, the lace. You bring to us the view of flowers, blossoming in a garden with a sweet fence and the dragonflies fluttering around in the air.
A beautiful tag filled with the sweetest details.

A wonderful background with so many textures. I think I could reach out and touch them. Dragonflies are my favorite! Great detail in your instructions. As tags are one of my beloved surfaces to paint, I'm sure I'll be able to follow them perfectly as I try my hand at this lovely creation. Cheers! Sharon
