Hello everybody. Bev here today with this week's DT project. I was extremely lucky and very excited when this piece got a big WOW from Hayley who presented the afternoon show on Hochanda last Friday so I thought I would share it with you here.

Here's what I did...


I began by taping down Denyse and blended through the stencil with the Weathered Wood Distress Ink. Once I had the depth of colour required I took the negative part of the stencil and covered her. I then covered the rest of the tag with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink and spritzed with water. I didn't get much of a reaction sadly but went ahead anyway.

I then took the Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet and blended randomly until happy. I removed the negative part of the stencil and replaced my stencil back over Denyse and taped in place with low tack tape. I then covered that with the Random Stones stencil and spread though the texture paste. I set this aside to dry.

I stamped multiples of all the flowers and leaves from the stamp set with black Archival ink. I decided I wanted added texture on the texture paste so I used a heat tool to create the bubble effect. Then the task of fussy cutting all my flowers and leaves...yes that took a while but it's worth the effort. I coloured all the elements with the drawing inks, making sure I did both sides as I didn't want to see any white showing once glued onto the tag. I felt my flowers and leaves needed something more so I added some highlights with the Posca Pens.

I then did some random stenciling with the Dinky stencils over my background until happy, and added some rings with various lids I have. Once happy with the look I shaped the flowers and glued all my pieces into place with glue gel.

I then stamped the wording on left with black Archival and the other with Hydrangea. At this point I felt my background needed something else so took my white Posca pen and dotted on some highlights.

    It's a beautiful GiganTAG Bev, Genius idea to use the stencil as a vase I love the way the blue background makes that magnificent bouquet pop out. I've spent hours cutting those flowers out myself many times before but the results are always well worth it!!

      Thank you Lynne. Yes a lot of fussy cutting but it was actually quite therapeutic although time consuming but it was definitely worth the effort. x

    Your tag is absolutely gorgeous and impressive, Bev!! Thank you for showcasing our Textured Flowers stamps in such a beautiful way! ♥ I know it must have taken forever to cut them out and colour in (on both sides at that!) and I was stunned when I saw it presented on Hochanda!       Thank you so much Bibi. Loving these flowers and yes, it took a while but quite therapeutic considering fussy cutting is not normally something I enjoy. The stamp set is worth the effort, I love it. x
