I Believe In Change by Lynne Moncrieff

This week I am sharing one of the Upright samples made for HOCHANDA.

I have a weakness for That’s Crafty! Uprights so I was thrilled to know I would be working on this substrate for the HOCHANDA sample.

The quote is from one of the new Inspirational Quote stamp sets which inspired me to incorporate the Relic and Artifact eye into this project.

Supplies

Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics – Toffee, Caramel
Old Credit Card
Extras – Rusty tin wire, found papers, calico scraps

Instructions

On this project, the time is spent on building colour, creating texture and staining.  Infusions are amazing little bottles of colour and they can also heighten that textural appearance.

After applying Gesso, apply Grunge Paste in a random layer. Pull the texture edge of stencil through paste. Next, apply Grunge Paste to Dinky Stencil TC012. Once dry, apply Infusions, misting with water and allowing the stain to drip and pool around stencilled areas. Once dry, highlight the relief design by applying Frescos and Martha Stewart Acrylic paint with fingertips.

Stamp EAA stars to upper corner. Stain calico, book text and eye with Infusions. Stamp quote and EAA sentiment onto the stained calico.

Cut into word tiles - they can be adhered to scrap cardstock for stability. Tear and crumple the stained book text.

Adhere all to Upright and adhere pieces of the crumpled paper to the base.

Finally, create several rusty tin wire embellishments by coiling the wire.

Until next week,

Wishes

Lynne
