Today I am sharing one of the That’s Crafty! Journal pages featuring both the new word stencils and Inspirational Quotes stamps sets.

This page is one of the large Whiteboard / Greyboard journal pages (A4 size). Being whiteboard the surface takes pretty much anything you want to throw at it – which is great for me – adding lots of paint layers. As with any absorbent surface though it is wise to paint both sides to prevent any slight warping that might occur.

I began with a credit card and a mixture of blue/green/yellow paints – I used a mixture of PaperArtsy and DecoArt chalk paints (colours listed below). I started with one colour- swiping over the surface with the credit card in patches and then moved onto the next colour – making sure I overlap the colours in places. You can see how this looked in the word areas on the page. I also did a similar process on some card stock which I used for the hearts.

I then drew some boxes with a journaling pen – making sure the central one was large enough to fit the LOVE on the stencil. I stencilled the word using DecoArt Phthalo Blue and highlighted with my white journaling pen once dry.

I then took DecoArt Cobalt Teal Hue and painted the page with the exception of the boxes. As the paint is translucent it changes the tone without losing the effect of the paint layers beneath. I added some interest to the page with additional stencilling (Quatrefoil 2 Dinky stencil) and some script stamping. I added further scribbly lines around my boxes in both black and white.

I then took the card I had painted in similar colours and stamped the hearts from Emma Godfrey Love stamp set (PaperArtsy). I cut them out and added a little Phthalo Blue over the smaller ones and some stencilling (Dinky Stencil – Bubble Wrap) over the large ones.

Finally I stamped the quote on white card – cut it up and added some scribbly black lines. I decided the quotes were a little too white so added a little Tim Holtz Vintage Distress Medium to age the paper a little.

Finally I adhered my quote and hearts and gave the whole page a coat of matte medium.
