Birds Of A Feather by Fliss Goodwin

Hi
there, I have a tag to share this week made from one of the fab That’s Crafty!
substrate surfaces, in this case a white/grey board large tag which is perfect
for mixed media as it’s very sturdy. I’ve also managed to fit no less than 5
stencils on here too!
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils – Bubbly All Over, Chevrons Background, Enchanted,
Feathers, Numbers
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – China, Lavender, Purple Rain
Brusho Crystals – Yellow, Purple, Violet, Turquoise
Scrap
of Blue Ribbon
Recipe:
Apply
small blobs of the China and Lavender paints to the Gelli Plate and spread with
your fingers, add some streaks of white gesso and press the white side of the
tag on to pick up the paint. If the paint ripples, spread on the tag with your
fingers until smoother. You’ll find that it will only ripple if you’ve put on
slightly too much paint.
Mist
the paint left on the Gelli plate with water and press on some tags to pick up
the remaining paint – I like to have some ready as even a pale print comes in
handy, especially for layering with darker shades.
When
the paint has dried, stencil feathers in the top left and bottom right corners
with white gesso, then use the numbers stencil with the Purple Rain paint to
add numbers over the feathers and randomly over the painted tag.
Use
the chevron stencil with white gesso to add a pattern in the opposite corners
and then use the bubbles stencil with the grey paint to add bubbles at the top
and bottom of the tag and just below the centre.
Stamp
the bird directly on the tag with the Archival ink and then stamp him on
stamping card. Colour the image with the Brusho Crystals, sprinkling a little
of each colour on a plate or acrylic block, misting with water and then
painting as you like. I used some yellow to provide a good contrast to the
painted tag.
Cut
out the bird except for the feet and glue the image directly over the one on
the tag. Use grey paint to add grounding round the image. Stencil on the dream
text with white gesso to finish and tie some ribbon through the top.
Have
a lovely Easter and see you next week.
