Into The Forest I Go by Fliss Goodwin

Hello!

I'm back this week to share the other side of the MDF Upright that I created for the recent very popular Hochanda shows and this one was inspired by my favourite way to chill out when things are stressful - a walk in the nearby woods.

Step by Step

This side is slightly different to the other as I wanted more tree coverage so I started off by using the Tree Bark stencil to appy Texture Paste on the left and right sides of the surface, then in the centre. I then painted the trees as before using Multi Surface Paints applied to my craft mat then dabbed on for a more realistic bark effect.

I then painted in between the trees with Evergreen Multi Surface Paint mixed with a little Black to deepen the shade. Once it was dry, I used the new Abstract Chevrons stencil with 3D Holographic Gel over the top for some gorgeous sparkle - a bit like sunshine peeking through the trees.

I added some more trees to the background which I described last week and you'll find the details on how I did it by clicking HERE

I also used some of the fern leaves created as shown last week on this piece and you'll find the how to on the same link above.

I next created the forest embellishments I wanted - it just had to be a bunny and some toadstools! I stamped the toadstools on my ever useful spray overflow paper and the bunny on smooth white cartridge paper. After colouring the bunny with Zig markers I cut everything out ready to glue in place. I brushed 3D Gloss Gel over all the pieces to give them a lovely sheen and bring out the colours.

The base was prepared as described last week, details on the above link too.

I placed all my embellishments as I wanted them to look before gluing in place using a mix of glue and 3D Gel for dimension.

The finishing touch was the addition of the Into the Forest text from the fern stamp plate which I cut from one of the left over bits from trimming out just the fern leaves.

Supplies:

Smooth White Cartridge Paper

Have a great and hopefully crafty weekend and see you next wee.
