Scraptastic by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
I've had an extremely busy week at work this past week and put that together with the hot weather my crafting time has been virtually non existent. So due constraints on my crafty time I have quite a simple card for you this week made totally from scraps and clean up sheets that I don't throw away.

What I Did:

As I said above this card has been made from scraps from my scrap box, I think we all have a box like that. Mine is full of sheets that I have used to clean my brayers off on, gelli prints, mop up sheets etc all saved to see if they can be used for future projects in one way or another.

This card started with my background which was a sheet of card that I used to clean black paint off my brayer you get a perfect change of shade as the brayer does a 2nd revolution creating a fabulous two tone piece. The other piece from my stash was again another scrap piece where I had been blending colours together with a brayer. Acrylic paints and a brayer can really create the best backgrounds and what you think might be a failed piece, once returned to days, weeks or months later can become a lost masterpiece which is why I think none of us really throw anything away.

Anyway back to my black two toned piece which I cut to size to fit the DL card blank. Using the scrap of blended colours card I trimmed the card so it was straight and then cut same size thin strips using a paper cutter, they were glued to the background and then trimmed to fit. Onto the remaining scrap I stamped the Carabelle stamps and cut out, I then stamped them again cutting out only the top triangle or diamond. I then added them to the card with 3D silicone gel and added the single cut out shape on top again using 3D silicone gel. I added my sentiment which I masked off slightly so it read 'decide' instead of  'I have decided' which is on the stamp. This I did by covering up with masking tape the words I didn't want inking, then inked the stamp with Versamark ink pad as I was heat embossing the sentiment, once inked I removed the masking tape before I stamped it. I then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Final touch was a touch of self adhesive gems. All was then mounted onto black card and added to the DL card blank.
