Dream in the Round by Amanda Southern

11:00

Hi Everyone
I'm sharing with you today my first outing using the fabulous MDF Rounds and I have used 2 out of the 3 sizes available, the 4" and the 6",  and I have teamed them up with stamps from AALL & Create.

Here's What I Did:

I first prepared the backgrounds for the Rounds and chose to do this on a gelli print from my stash. I was inking up for the first time the huge A4 stamp designed by Tracy Evans for AALL & Create. There is so much detail on this stamp so I used a 12" x 12" Stamping Platform, alternatively That's Crafty! have a 9" x 11" acrylic block to accommodate a stamp of this size.

Once I had stamped the image I had enough stamped background to cover both the 6" and 4" circle. I glued the MDF circles to the reverse of the card lining up the circles to the part I wanted and then roughly cut them out. Once the glue was dry I trimmed them around the edges with a sharp craft knife.

I then added some detail to the stamping with a white gel pen and added some additional ring and splatter markings using red paint. Using some of the scrap background I stamped the paintbrush and cut it out along with the butterfly and the word Create, again I added some white pen detail and put red paint onto the brush and then stamped the bristles on the brush back in. I added a small piece of torn washi tape and lightly brushed red paint around the edges. I then threaded some black string through to hang them up.

This is the 6"

This is the 4"

What I Used:
That's Crafty! Surfaces MDF Rounds Pack of 15 (5 of each size 8", 6" & 4")
Thats's Crafty! 9" x 11" acrylic block
Gelli print from stash
Plastic lid to make paint rings

I think I have just discovered another favourite surface and such fabulous value getting 15 circles, 5 of each size, for only £10.99.
Have a fabulous week and I'll see you all next Tuesday
Love
