Back to Front by Tracey Fairgrieve

Hello creative Friends
Today's post is all about creating using some of those That's Crafty!
elements previously decorated for other projects that remained unused.
Some may remember that back in October I created a little note book, I only realised
the other day that the back of it was a blank canvas just waiting to be decorated.
Here's what I created using some of those pre decorated elements.

Some may remember that back in October I created a little note book, I only realised
the other day that the back of it was a blank canvas just waiting to be decorated.
Here's what I created using some of those pre decorated elements.
Layering up cogs and gears left over from my Jewellery Hanger project I glued them down
using multi purpose glue adding extra textured sand paste and over painted to blend in.
The fabulous midnight blue paint is perfect for adding shadow beneath those cogs.
With the over hanging cogs trimmed to size it gives a more streamlined look.
Reassembled using the mini book rings the adapted pencil still slots in perfectly.
I'm now thinking it's a shame to have this as the back as it's so tactile!
The possibility of having two mini notebooks is now calling me as I find
the first note book invaluable and carry it around everywhere with me.
Thank you for sharing a moment of your day,
I look forward to sharing more of mine with you all very soon.

Wow Tracey! This is a really stunning rusty creation with amazing texture and colour. A real shame to put it on the back too and think you should make it the cover of another notebook.
ReplyDeleteFliss xx
Thanks Fliss, I think I may just have to make a couple of backs. The problem is they then will become black canvas's it's a never ending circle hee hee xx

DeleteOh, I am loving the background you created on your little notebook, I do love rust and the cogs look fabulous on top. The pencil looks great too! It definitely is a shame that it is the back of the notebook... Anne x

I'm torn of what to do, one side can be for notes and the other for thoughts as those cogs turn around in my head hee hee. Happy you like it Donna Thank you so much xx

ReplyDeleteTracey, it has a lovely Steampunk feel to it but yes, a pity it is on the rear of the notebook!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more, notebooks are so useful for notations and thumbnail sketches. Maybe we will see another notebook from you soon.
