Quiet Strength by Dorthe Hansen
11:00
I`m back to my Monday again - so hi from me, I hope your weekend
has been wonderful and that you all had time to relax maybe with a little creative time.
......................................
This week I made my sample on one of the white/greyboard tags.
To start, I stenciled around the perimeter using Distress Ink. Next I painted paper hand towel and old lace, with a very diluted Lime Multi Surface Paint and when dry, stamped the flower
from Donna`s new stamp set Claire - I also used the leaf shaped stamp as leaves
and the doodle from the other stamp set Amelie, as the flower
stem, all with black Archival Ink. Both flower and leaves were hand painted with Lime and White paint and a piece of silver thread from Christmas, adhered with an old jewel flower to the center.
( you could easily use a button )
On the bottom of the tag, I stamped the text from Textures Collection set 3
I love this stamp, so lovely with the tiny script.
Around the perimeter, I dipped my finger in the beautiful Lime and dapped/smeared it on.
The lace was adhered under the leaves and on the bottom of the tag,
from Lynne`s Affirmations set 4, I stamped Quiet Strength, also on handpaper towel
and adhered in between the two strips of lace. Finally more silver thread and another old jewel scratch was added to the stem to give a little glitter and on top, I tied a sari silk ribbon !!
I hope you like this very early spring tag,
and thank you for following me till here.
Happy new week to you all.
Hugs and love
Dorthe

ReplyDeleteHello Dorthe Dear. This tag is lovely in Spring Green and the “Quiet Strength” reminds me of my daffodil bulbs that are working hard to sprout through cold hard ground. I look forward to their cheery yellow flowers that welcome Spring. <3
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shade of green and a delightful way to embrace your endearing words by matching the colour with your traditions. Spring really is on its way Dorthe.

Dear Dorthe, I always look forward to your next creation with excitement wondering,"what will she think of next?!" I'm never disappointed! Green (all shades) is my favorite color, so your lovely tag caught my eye right away. Green gives me a feeling of serenity and tranqility; how perfect that your new tag for Spring, featuring the words "Quiet Strength" is green. The delicate lace, flower with a sparkle and muted, watery shades of green capture the essence of Spring and Quiet Strength exactly! Thank you for sharing your surprise.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative and original tag with a lovely message. Strength lies in all things green. There is a quiet power in those little shoots I can see pushing their way out in my garden and this tag captures that feeling of hope perfectly, Dorthe. xx
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of quiet strength.
ReplyDeleteI love the texture from the fabric scraps, and the soft, subtle colour tones are perfect for the idea of quiet strength - beautiful, Dorthe!
