Funky Heart Mobile by Alison Hall

00:00

Hi Everyone! Alison here today, sharing my heart mobile that I made for Hochanda TV's Let Leonie Loose show recently.

Here's what I used...

That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils - Bubble Wrap, Bubbles Background, Diamond Circles Background
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint - Blue Oyster, Guacamole, Sherbet, Bougainvillea, Caribbean Sea, Tango
PaperArtsy Stamp Sets - EEG16, EEG16

Here's what I did...

1. I began by peeling back one side's protective covering on each of the large and small heart pieces, then stencilled on them using the light opaque paints, Blue Oyster, Sherbet, & Guacamole, with the Dinky Stencils.

2. I peeled off the covering on the reverse sides of all the hearts. On the large heart pieces, I stamped the large circle from EEG15 with Bougainvillea, the smaller circle inside that with Tango, and then inside that the scribble from EEG16 with Caribbean Sea. I did this multiple times on both sides of only the large heart pieces.

3. Next, I had fun splattering some watered down Bougainvillea, Caribbean Sea and Tango paint all over the large and small heart pieces, front and back. I used a round paintbrush to do this. You can use a heat gun to dry the paint, but it's best not to focus it on an area for too long.

4. To finish, I assembled my heart mobile using the monofilament thread included in the kit.

I hope I've inspired you with my bright and funky project today. A little bit of Summer on these dark December days.
