Stamp – Mini House
Cut your canvas into four house shapes, mine are 10cm wide,
10cm at the side and 16cm in the middle. You will need a square 10 x 10cm to
make the base of the house. Also keep out some extra canvas to make flowers and
leaves.
Spray the houses with the Pineapple Paradise and Hibiscus
Rose and dry.
At the same time spray some spare canvas in greens, blues,
reds etc for use in making embellishments later. Also stamp any images onto
spare canvas you will want to create features on the house. I coloured the
Zinouk character, the house, bird and dog with Pitt Artist Brush pens.
Take the That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils and add pattern and
colour using the paints to the houses and add stamping.
At the same time stamp/spray some spare canvas for use in
making embellishments later. Also stamp any images onto spare canvas you will
want to create features on the house. I coloured the Zinouk character, the
house, bird and dog with Pitt Artist Brush pens.
Now it’s time to put the house together. I knew where I wanted some of the stamped and
coloured embellishments so I glued those on before starting the next stage. As
the canvas is quite thick and stiff with the ink and paint you may find sewing
is a bit tricky so use glue instead. Stick the front and one side together
remembering to leave a “seam allowance” at the base and at the tip. Do the same with the other side and the
back. I found it helped to put glue on
both the edges so glue was sticking to glue. When the two pieces are dry, glue them together teasing the tip into a
nice point and still leaving a seam allowance at the base, if you want to hang
now is the time to feed some ribbon in at the tip and secure with glue. When all the side seams are dry stuff the
house with whatever wadding or stuffing you are using and attach the base.
Now it’s time to embellish. You can die cut or stamp and hand cut flowers, leaves, shapes etc from
the coloured canvas, use buttons, ribbons, charms, gems, etc anything you like
from your stash to make your house your own.
