DIY Spring by Samantha Read

Hello! I'm guessing by now that we are all looking forward to Spring and some warmer weather, so whilst we wait we can make our own!
I just love all the new stamps That's Crafty! have released and if you saw the Hochanda shows last week you may have spotted this decorative hanging I made using some of the new ATCoin stamps, they are incredibly versatile stamps and are great for things other than ATCoins.

What I did

I began with an 8in x 8in MDF surface and prepped it with a couple of coats of white gesso, then quite randomly applied a thin layer of different coloured paints and sprays, I tend to keep to three colours if I want a coordinated look, and stamped the background foliage. I used texture sand paste and a stencil to add texture and dimension and a much needed frame to the main flowers which are the new ATCoin stamps, which I coloured using Prismacolour pencils. To finish I doodled a frame and added ribbon for hanging and some little butterflies for movement.

What I used

That's Crafty! Multi Surface Paints - I used: Pale pink, Light blue and Lavender
That's Crafty! Lustre Sprays - I used: Frost, Aqua, Silver and Lilac
Extras; Wycinanka butterflies

I do hope you like, thanks for looking. Sam x
