Hi everyone,
I'm still enjoying journaling in my handmade Gelli print book so I thought I'd share another page with you all today ;)
What I Did:
Firstly you'll need to create some Gelli printed pages for this. Once again I highly recommend going on to Youtube and searching for Birgit Koopsen as she's the lady that's the absolute star with all things Gelli printed and she shows you how to create a Gelli print book for journaling which includes no sewing.....so that's good!!
For this particular Gelli print here I used a 6x6 Gelli plate with a That's Crafty! stencil and a couple of stamps from the Ella stamp set.
The background was created just by applying some Decoart paints on the Gelli plate, placing the stencil on top, removing it and then pulling the print. You can use any paper for your book just make sure it can stand up to wet media though.
After it dried thoroughly I incorporated the page into my journal and then set about creating on it.
I stamped all the images on to Strathmore Mixed Media paper, coloured them in with a mixture of Mermaid Markers and then fussy cut them out. I adhered them on the page and doodled a little bit on Ella's face to give her a more Gothic vibe.
Some Tim Holtz clippings sentiments were added for a finishing touch and there you have a slightly spooky, slightly Gothic journal page. These little journals are so addictive to make I must say :)
Supplies Used:
That's Crafty! Stamp Set Donna's Girls Collection - Ella
That's Crafty! Stencils - 8x8 (I used Lines)
Jane Davenport - Mermaid Markers
DecoArt Media Fluid Paints
Archival Ink - Black
Strathmore Mixed Media paper pad
Gelli Plate
Tim Holtz - Clippings Stickers
Hope you like it
Donna xx
