Love, Peace & Happiness ATC’s by Amanda Southern

Hi Everyone
I have a set of ATC’s for you this week, little pieces of
art that are 2.5” x 3.5”. The ATC’s have been cut from left over painted kraft
card that I used to cover the shrine that I made as my inspirational piece for
this fortnights challenge theme which is ‘anything but a card’, you still have
time to play and also be in with a chance to be the winner of a £20 That’s
Crafty! vouchers, you will find all the details HERE.
Here’s What I Did:
Even
though I’ve used left overs originally the Kraft card was gelli printed using
shades of blue lightening down to white on the Gelli Plate. Into the wet paint
I then stamped one of the Carabelle Studio unmounted printing stamps. They are
different to normal stamps as any text is reversed so that when you take a
print it is then the correct way. I cut the card into 3 ATC’s. I then selected
several different heart stamps, all from Carabelle Studio.
I wanted to stamp
and colour directly onto the ATC so to do this technique required the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform to allow me to lightly stamp the image then paint the heart
with red Dylusions paint, and then stamp over the top of the painted heart to
put all the detail of the stamp back in (just remember not to remove your stamp
or card until you are finished). I did this with 3 designs of hearts. I then
added some additional stamping with black Archival ink. I stamped some bits
onto a book page and cut out and added. I then stamped the word, cut out and
added one word to each ATC. Some torn strips of washi tape finish these off.
Any
background scraps that I have, if they are big enough, I always cut down to ATC
size and keep for another day!
What I Used:
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints - Blue’s and White
Carabelle Studio Stamps - Art Mailing, Je Cree donc je suis, Doodle Art & Hearts and
Pebbles (designed by Zorrotte)
Carabelle Studio Stamps - Ecrit a la Plume (designed by Ana Bondu)

Eye catching on my blog feed! Great work Amanda x
ReplyDeleteTerrific ATCs - the painting and restamping technique is so clever - one of the first things I'll try if I ever get round to getting the platform unpacked! Thanks for the inspiration.
