Indian Summer Skies by Tracey Fairgrieve

Hello everyone, I hope your weekend has
been a good one and for those of you in the UK an extended one due to today
being a Bank Holiday.
We have not had much of a Summer this
year, albeit blessed with the odd sunny day and as Autumn is a few weeks away
I'm hoping for an Indian Summer to bring the sky to life with those warm
colours. Those thoughts have inspired me to create this little tag using some
of those wonderful new That's Crafty! products.
Here in words and pictures is my Indian
Summer Skies.
Using a That's Crafty! MDF Tag I
brushed on the Multi Surface Yellow and Christmas Red Paints with brush strokes
from left to right merging them both in the middle to create an orangey colour.
I then dried with a heat tool as this intensifies the colour by burning away
the water content leaving a rich colour pigment. Neil Burley explained this
perfectly on Hochanda recently whilst demoing the latest That's Crafty!
products on the shows. I then dry brushed Gold lightly across the tag to add a
touch of shimmer.
The Wildflower surface was painted
Brown and the circle being used to replicate the sun dabbed in Gold. This
circle is actually an off cut from the clock surfaces.
The wildflower and butterfly both from
the same That's Crafty! Small Wildflower Surfaces set have been coated in
embossing ink and heat embossed using Aged Scarlet Frantage and along with the
sun glued onto the tag.
Words from Lynne's Affirmations Stamp Set
2 have been stamped onto gold ribbon and curled around the tag to complement
the colour scheme.
Edged in Multi Surface Gold Paint,
Prima and Maya Fibres help bring those colours all together completing my
Indian Summer Skies Tag.
I loved putting this tag together as it
has a warm and inviting feel. I hope you like it too.
Thank you for sharing your time again,
until next time.
Enjoy The DT's makes throughout the
week and I will meet you all back here same time, same place next Monday..!!
It's a Date.
