Creating You by Lynne Moncrieff

This is another of the shrine samples I made for the Stitches show.

Supplies

Extras: Mop-up and under paper, cotton thread, buttons

Instructions

I stained and stamped the shrine prior to assembling

Apply Gesso to frame. Once dry, add random areas of Grunge Paste. When dry, apply Infusions, misting generously with water. Also stain white/greyboard tag and white cardstock with Infusions. With any excess Infusions, stain sari ribbon. Leave to air dry.

Once dry, repeatedly stamp Scribbled Text Elements stamp onto shrine. Stamp Quote onto stained cardstock, cutting into word tiles. Before adhering Quote to the tag, stamp stars onto tag. Scribble borders around the stamped word tiles. Attach tag to piece of stained sari ribbon. As you assemble the shrine, trap the ends of the sari ribbon behind the frame of the shrine, allowing the tag to suspend.

Apply Crackle Paste to mdf heart. Once dry, apply Infusions and again, leave to dry (if you prefer to speed up the drying process, use a heat tool).

Onto mop up or under paper, stamp the moth. Layer prepared heart to centre. Onto scrap piece of stained cardstock, ink up the word Art, contained within one of the Inspirational Quote stamps. Adhere to centre of heart. Adhere this to top of shrine.

Final touches:- onto media tape, stamp sentiment by inking up “creating” from Quote used on tag and for the word “you”, carefully, only apply ink to this section of the “yourself” word in the same quote. Embellish shrine with cotton thread sewn onto buttons.

The Art Shrines come in a variety of styles and sizes.

Until next week,

Wishes

Lynne
