Be Great by Fliss Goodwin

Hi
there, I have a little inspiration for our current challenge at That’s Crafty!
Challenge Blog which has the theme of Just Words and I have a journal page to
share which fits the bill very well.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Inspirational Quotes Set 2, Motivational Words Set 1
PaperArtsy Eclectica Seth Apter Stamps – ESA02, ESA03
Distress Inks – Crushed Olive, Old Paper, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood
Ranger Archival Ink – Fern Green, Cobalt
Dark
Blue Card
Recipe:
This
is my current favourite way to colour a background using Distress inks and is
especially good if the ink pads have got a bit dry! All you do is press the ink
pads lightly (or more heavily if they’re quite dry), starting with the lightest
colour first and adding successive colours up to the darkest which you should
add a lot less of!
I
originally intended my page to be more blue toned but it turned out rather
green so I stamped in blue instead. I used the diamond background stamp on top
of the inked page, stamping with the Weathered Wood ink for a subtle pattern.
I
then stamped on my chosen quote and some motivational words with the Cobalt
ink. I next stamped on some stars with the Weathered Wood ink to draw the text
together.
As
a finishing touch, I stamped the star on a scarp of mixed media paper with the
Fern Green ink, cut this out and added it to my page with a ring die cut from
dark blue card – I love this versatile die set as you get lots of leftover bits
to use on other projects.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
