Water World by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today with an acrylic stack ATC for you which is a nice introduction size to the acrylic range.

What to do:

For the MDF base layer, coat with a layer of Gesso and dry thoroughly. Stamp the Carabelle turtle using black Archival ink and proceed to colour in using a mixture of Distress markers for a light watercolour effect.

Next, select a light blue Gelato crayon for the background around the turtle image, blend the colour in and then flick some water on it, dry with a kitchen towel.

First acrylic layer is where you stamp the Katzelkraft bubbles in black or blue Stazon and then colour the reverse of the stamped image with a blue Promarker. Highlight the bubbles using a white Posca pen. You can use a Posca pen or paint too for the bubbles but the Promarker gives a more translucent effect.

For the second acrylic layer, take the ‘lightning’ stamp from the weather set by Crafters Companion and stamp directly onto the surface with a green Stazon. I think this makes a really good seaweed image instead. I did originally stamp it in red for coral but it looked like veins so that was quickly scrubbed off!!

The final acrylic layer is where you stamp the word ‘amaze’ from another Crafters Companion set with black Stazon.

Assemble with the screw and washers and this really did take no time at all but the effect is really dramatic…..can you tell how much I love this stuff?!
