Life’s Great Adventure by Fliss Goodwin

Hi
there, this week I’m sharing a simple journal page in my recently purchased
journal which has lovely kraft paper pages. As soon as I saw it I knew it would
be good for quick and simple creations – just what I need when short on time as
I have been lately.
Ingredients:
Ranger Archival Ink – Jet Black and Watering Can
Scraps
of Painted Paper – mine were made with a Gelli Plate
Journal
with kraft pages – mine is quite large which is good as the stamps are large!
Old
Credit Card or Store Card
Recipe:
Use
the old credit card to scrape the gesso roughly on the journal page until
you’re happy with the effect. I wanted to leave kraft paper showing so I
started in the centre and worked outwards.
I
then used the foam stamp that comes with the very clever urban scribble set. I
applied some of the pumpkin paint to my craft mat and spread it out then
pressed on the plain side of the stamp to pick up the colour. I pressed this
onto my painted page at an angle.
Once
the paint was dry, I inked up the rubber stamp with watering can ink and
stamped this over the top of the orange paint shape. You’ll see that it gives
the buildings a very 3D, look which is very effective.
I
stamped the fashion dame on stamping card and the clothes (she’s like a dress
up doll which is great fun!) on scraps of painted paper. Colour the woman’s
face and neck, arms and part of her legs with pencils and cut everything out.
Add
the figure to the page – I used a mixture of foam tape and double sided tape to
give her a bit of shape and then stamp the text underneath the buildings to
finish.
We
have a new challenge for you today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so
don’t forget to check it out at 8am.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
