It´s Melina here today sharing two quick and easy cards with you.

Here´s what I did:

I made these backgrounds a while ago by simply smudge Distress Oxides on my craft sheet, spray

with water and pick them up on photo paper.

I stamp and cut out the butterflies from the Doodled Butterflies and Leaves stamp set.

I colour them in with Distress Crayons and a water brush.

I do some background stamping with two of the leaves from the same stamp 

set using Distress oxides.

I spray That´s Crafty Sparklers spray on the butterflies, the blue one on the blue/green 

and the red on the pink/orange. It does not show on the photos, but it really adds a nice shimmer 

in real life.

I stamp the sentimens from Lynne´s Affirmations set 3 and 4 and use the little paint blob stamp 

to add some contrast in the corners. I glue my card panels down on black cardstock and then onto white card bases, add the butterflies and my cards are finished.

It´s Melina here today sharing this mixed media journal cover with you.

Today my blog post is more of an inspirational one rather than a full step-by-step tutorial.

I made this on The Paper Crafting (scandinavian edition) World Scrapbooking Day cyber crop event

a few days ago. I was one of the cyber crop ambassadors, and That´s Crafty! was one of the generous sponsors. I used a lot of That´s Crafty! own brand products on this one and thought it would be fun to share it here with you today.

Here´s what I did:

I start to adhere a piece of gelli printed paper to a That´s Crafty! A6 size white/greyboard page.

I use That´s Crafty! Light Texture Paste through the Mandala Stencil TC8014.

I add a piece of cheese cloth, a piece of chipboard and white paper roses. I make some background stamping to the right side of the page using a script stamp from Rubber Dance.

I use one of the white/greyboard butterfly matches and paint it using a mix of Bright Magenta and White Multi Surface Paint. When dry I stamp the butterfly from the Doodled Butterflies and Leaves stamp set and heat emboss it using gold embossing powder.

I dilute some Bright Magenta paint with water in a spray bottle and spray the flowers. I also make splatters to the page using the Bright Magenta again and also with Metallic Gold Multi Surface Paint to match the details of the butterfly. 

I add quote stickers from Tim Holtz and some glass beads and my cover is finished.

This is unusually romantic to be made by me, but sometimes it just happens :)

It´s Melina here today sharing this mixed media piece that I made some time ago 

as a sample for a previous That´s Crafty! Hochanda show.

I have used the rectangle MDF Chunky, and I really love to work on this new surface!

Works perfectly for mixed media projects because it´s hard, and I don´t think I will ever use 

a regular canvas for a mixed media piece again!

Here´s what I did:

I start by coating the whole surface with That´s Crafty! (TC) white gesso. I apply TC Texture sand paste through the new TC brick wall stencil, TC7022. I also use the waist MDF pieces from the rectangle Chunky. They come flat and you just pop out the pieces for the Chunky from the MDF sheet. The leftovers are perfect for extra texture and interest on mixed media pieces I think.

Last week I shared a video here on the blog, and in the beginning of that video 

you can see how to put the Chunkies together. You´ll find that video HERE.

I put some TC Chestnut Brown Multi surface paint where I don´t have the Texture Paste, give it a coat of TC Crackle Glaze and when dry then give everything a new coat with gesso. Love those crackles!

 I add some more MDF waist pieces, hemp twine, thread and homemade paper flowers and give them a coat of gesso. When dry I do some background stamping with TC Textures Collection Stamp Set 3 using Archival ink in Sepia and Coffee.

I colour my piece using TC Multi Surface Paints in Chestnut Brown and Ocean. I spray with water to make them run and catch all the different textures in the background.

For my focal point I use one of the butterflies from TC stamp set Doodled Butterflies & Leaves and use the matching white/greyboard shape. I start to apply TC Crackle Glaze. When dry I apply a coat of Ocean Multi Surface Paint and wait for the cracks to appear. I stamp the butterfly on the shape and heat emboss with white embossing powder. I use gold wire to make the body and antennas.

I adhere the butterfly, add some splashes with TC Multi Surface Paint Metallic Gold and some clear glass beads here and there. As a final touch I add some darker glass beads in the center of my flowers and my piece is finished.

I used stamps from The House Collection and Doodled Butterflies & Leaves.

I used one of the new ATC size Chunkies as base and tried to make it look like concrete.

It´s Melina here today sharing this wall hanging I made using the 

Doodled Butterflies & Leaves stamp set and matching white/greyboard shapes.

My steps:

I paint the matching shapes with Lime, Teal and Ocean Multi Surface paints 

and white gesso.

I apply That´s Crafty! Light texture paste through the TC8024 stencil on That´s Crafty! white/greyboard ATCs and paint them with Ocean paint.

I use a waist piece from the white/greyboard sheet and make a label for the title.

I stamp and heat emboss the images on the matching shapes using 

gold embossing powder. I also stamp and heat emboss the word Moments from 

That´s Crafty! Inspirational Quotes stamp set 1.

I dilute some white gesso with water and add to the ATCs, then spraying 

extra water on and let it move around.

I glue everything down on a 8x8 white/greyboard panel using 

That´s Crafty! Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive.

Finally I add some hemp twine to the top, for hanging, and bottom and my panel is finished.

Hello everyone!

It´s Melina here today sharing a mixed media tag. 

I used the new butterfly stamps from the Doodled Butterflies & Leaves stamp set.

Here´s what I did:

I make a patterned paper using different colours of Distress Oxides and a number of 

That´s Crafty! stencils, just as I did for the mushroom card two weeks ago. 

I stamp the butterflies on the paper and cut them out.

I make some splashes to the tag using a yellow Posca pen.

I apply That´s Crafty! Light Texture Paste through one of my new favourite stencils, TC8024.

I layer pieces of gelli printed paper and cheese cloth, glue them together and use the same paste and stencil for texture.

Finally I assemble everything, make some splashes with black gesso, 

white emboss the quote on black cardstock and my tag is finished.
