Dreamy Nature by Dorthe Hansen

10:59

Material Used:

Infusions - Sleigh Blue, Rusty Car, Slime (all thinned very much with water in mister bottles)
Distress Inks - Weathered Wood, Vintage Photo, Old Paper, Aged Mahogany, Spun Sugar
Writer Pen - Brown
Infusions Dyed Lace and Paper Scraps
Glue Stick
Real Bark

Coat greyboard with gesso and let dry. Stencil trees and spritz with Infusions Sleigh Blue, let dry.

Spritz under trees with Slime Infusion, let dry and then stencil the bird with Old Photo and Weathered Wood ink.
While the stencil is still in place, mark outline of the bird with brown Writer Pen. Paint him in with Infusions Sleigh Blue and Rusty Car, dissolved in water. Mark Eye with white Sharpie and smear white Sharpie on bird body and tail too. Paint trees with Rusty Car and mark some branches with the brown Writer Pen. Stencil Dinky Floral, using Aged Mahogany and Spun Sugar Inks, draw around petals and create a stalk with Brown Writer and White Sharpie.

To add to the feeling of the dreamy nature, I adhered Infusions dyed, old tulle scraps to tree tops and also added a piece of handmade dyed paper to the bottom, together with 3 pieces of found real bark. I always collect nature items from the ground, when out walking.

And last but surely not least, I stamped one of Lynne’s beautiful Affirmations to a scrap of paper and adhered it in the flower bed. The last thing to do was adding black Archival ink around the edges.

  6. Dear Friend
Welcome to the That's Crafty D.T. :) It's so wonderful that you and Tracey are today sharing your first DT projects with us all.
It is so beautiful the way you created this scene, as though we are sitting in the countryside, looking at the beauty of nature before us. I love the narrative you created with the use of various stencils and the way the bird is perched on the natural elements you possibly gathered from one of your walks or from your garden.
    Stunning creation.
