This is
an abstract painting which forms part of a series I have been working on about
“transitions” the point or process where one thing becomes another light to
dark/land to sea/child to adult etc. One of the things I really like about
abstract is that although I know exactly what I was thinking and trying to
communicate in the painting each person who sees it will see something
different and everyone’s view is right.
The
canvas is a 10 x 14 box canvas onto which I had put modelling paste through a
stencil a long time ago and left as it wasn’t what I wanted. So I went back to
it and added lots more modelling paste randomly and a mixture of the Gel Medium
and Glass Beads. When dry I worked into it with the acrylic paints. I must say
I had a really good time with it.

Stunning piece, love this! Ruth x
ReplyDeleteWOW! Actually I have to say WOW again. WOW! There, I said it three times. This is just fabulous. It looks like a lighthouse in a raging storm. I love the texture you got. The beads look like sea foam. What a fantastic piece of work! Lx

I love this Moira, gorgeous piece of art. My first thoughts when I saw it was a lighthouse and crashing waves in the early morning gloom. Red sky in the morning shepherds warning
