Trend Setter by Lynne Moncrieff

I had fun pairing Clearly Constructed (Character
Construction) stamp with PaperArtsy to create an art doll on a That’s Crafty!
Alterable Surface.
Supplies
Distress Stain Spray:- Hickory Smoke, Antique Linen Ground Espresso
Tombow Glue Stick
Extras:- Vintage dressmaking tissue (substitute
with Canvas Corp Natural Tissuestock), scrap fabric and ricrac
Instructions
Mist panel with Distress Stain Sprays and whilst
wet, rub Gesso onto the panel. Continue
to mist with DSS if required. Apply the
same colours to a scrap of white cardstock.
Onto this piece stamp upper section of PaperArtsy stamp, arms (from
LPC001) and thimble (from Sewing Notions).
Returning to the panel. Once it is dry, randomly stamp words. Continuing with the stamping, stamp the lower
section of the mannequin onto the panel. Re-ink the full stamp and this time
stamp onto dressmaking tissue/Tissuestock. Tear around stamped image, adhering
to panel with Tombow glue stick, layering with the stamped head. Cut slits into the sleeves of the dress and
slide the stamped arms in place. Fussy
cut the stamped thimble, attaching to one hand, creating a handbag.
Until next time,
Lynne x

ReplyDeleteI love this doll! What a beautiful art doll. Thank you so much for going through each step of the process. I have not made art dolls in a few years, but this has given me inspiration to get out all my doll faes and accessories to try again. I do love stamping on old tissue pattern pieces. I feel an idea forming! Thank you, Lynne, for always being so generous to us and providing the steps to achieve such a gorgeous art piece. inkybru xx
