Be Brave by Donna Gray

Hi everyone,

Donna here today with a rather fab StencilGirl stencil, they have some brilliant face ones, worth taking a look ;)

What To Do:

I used wood for this creation but That’s Crafty! now do some brilliant substrates’ that will stand up to loads of wet media including plywood.

Use gesso as your base especially if you’re using MDF or wood, after the gesso dries take a DecoArt Satin Acylic paint in a blue shade and apply randomly with a brayer, dry, then use a DecoArt Neon paint in Yellow, once again brayer on the paint, dry with a heat gun. You want the background quite light which using a brayer does.

For the next stage take a mixture of stencils and apply black Distress ink via what either tool you use (I used a stencil brush for this). Make sure you use the face stencil first and then all the other stencils after as you want a layered effect.

To make some of the stencilled images stand out more, use black DecoArt paint for that.

Add a pop of red DecoArt paint to the centre of the flower, then a Tim Holtz small talk sticker and there you have it.

I must say, these DecoArt Neon paints really are super bright…..wear your sunglasses at all times ;)

Supplies Used:

Crafters Workshop Stencil - use Mini Whimsical Shrooms or Tim Holtz Stencil - Wild Flower as an alternative to the one I used

Hope you like it
