Butterfly Atc Trio by Fliss Goodwin

Hello!

I'm here this week with a mixed media trio of artist trading cards on a butterfly theme as I'm sure you all know just how much I love adding butterflies to my artwork. These are actually easier to make than you might think too as the base is some ink spray overflow paper from my leftovers box.

Step by Step:

As mentioned, I covered the MDF artist trading card blanks with ink spray overflow papers from my leftover bits box. These were all in shades of yellow and orange with a few sprinkles of red.

I added some detail to the original backgrounds by stencilling on a harlequin pattern in places with red ink. I then did a little stamping with my favourite Einstein text image using black ink.

I then gave the background some texture by using the same harlequin stencil with white texture paste to add a pattern randomly on the atcs.

I then decided to add another layer in my current favourite way - creating torn paper circles. I made a background on a scrap copy paper which I misted lightly with aqua flat matte spray. I then stamped the alpha script stamp all over with turquoise ink using first and second generation stamping.

I used circle dies as a guide to tear out a larger circle and a smaller one for each atc. I edged the circles with red ink and smooshed a little over the smaller circles.

I stamped several butterflies in different sizes on scraps of blue and green inky papers with black ink and cut them out.

I assembled the atcs, adding a larger and smaller circle to each, a large butterfly to two of them and a medium and two small to the other one.

I finished off with text stamped on dark card with embossing ink and heat embossed it with white powder. I trimmed the text into tiles and added them to the atcs to finish.

Have a great weekend and see you next week on my usual day!
