Do you make scrapbook pages? maybe not but these pages look stunning in shadow box frames especially when completed with special photographs so they are definitely worth knowing how to create. I have used two white mats and carefully glued the embellishments in place around them so photos can be added at a later date but if you are making for yourself add the photographs first and then embellish after.

The starting point for this "page" was to take a background paper from the Magnolia Dreams 12 x 12  paper pack. I then positioned my two 4" x 6" photomats in  place and lightly marked their positions so I knew where to add the extra details I wanted. The colour glow pigments are lovely to use and so very versatile - for this page I mixed some Labradorite powder with Glossy Heavy Body Gel creating a thick paste. I chose the glossy gel so that the shine of the micas in the powder is preserved in the dried medium. When the paste was ready I applied it though the Magnolia Leaves stencil and left it to dry whilst I cut out elements from the paper collection (12 x 12), Words and Elements extra sheet and 6 x 6 paper pack.

I then decorated my photomats using a grey ink and the floral images from the Girl In Love stamp set. Having prepared all of my elements I then layered them in place - adding dimension to the flowers by shaping them with my fingers and tucking in Magnolia Dreams chipboard pieces as I went. Just because the chipboard comes as it is does not mean you need to use whole pieces carefully breaking them up makes them go further and for me meant the shapes fitted better.

Finally I mixed some of the Labradorite Colour Glow powder with Liquid Acrylic Medium and used this to add splatters to my piece.

I hope you like this tutorial and maybe use it to make a present for a couple who have recently got married or maybe for those celebrating a new baby.
