What I did:
I hand cut a tag from Strathmore Mixed media paper using a smaller tag as the measurement for this purpose. This is roughly equivalent to a size 5 tag.
Next step was to stamp Cara to the left hand side of the tag as I didn't want to stamp the whole of the image. I then set about colouring her in with a mixture of Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers, making sure they were were well diluted with a water brush.
I then stamped my hand carved feather stamp to the right of the tag using a red Distress Oxide. You can use a That's Crafty! feather stamp for this but I just wanted to try out out my new carving ;)
I went over the feathers with the water brush to pull out the colour from the Distress Oxide and cover the background a little with it.
I then stamped the 'screw heads' stamp from a That's Crafty! texture set (this set contains a feather stamp too) with black archival ink and the word beauty from the Fleur set.
Then a little doodling with a white Posca pen, a few splatters from a Mermaid Marker and then I mounted it onto black card.
There you have a small tag that packs a powerful punch!!
