Hi
there, this week I have a little more inspiration to share for our new
challenge today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog. I’ve created an
exceedingly floral tag with rather a retro vibe to it reminiscent of fabric and
wallpaper from the 1970s.
Ingredients:
That’s Crafty! Surfaces – White/Greyboard Heart Size 3
That’s Crafty! Clear Stamp Sets – Textures Collection Set 1, Lynne’s Affirmations Set
6
Distress Oxide Inks – Antique Linen, Fossilized Amber, Broken China, Spiced Marmalade,
Twisted Citron, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick
Recipe:
I
made my own tag from mixed media paper and it’s the same proportions as a size
8 tag so you could use one ready made if you like.
To
make the background, I simply stamped the funky flower image repeatedly on the
tag, starting with the pink, and then blue followed by purple. I filled in the
gaps left with the green and yellow and finally a little linen.
I
covered the heart shape with a thin layer of texture paste and drew a rough
stripy pattern with an old store card. Once this was dry, I swiped on some Worn
Lipstick ink, misted with a little water to make it run a little and then dried
it with a heat gun. I next swiped on some Wilted Violet, repeating the misting
and drying.
I
stamped some extra flowers in orange, blue and green on a scrap of mixed media
paper, colouring the centres with contrasting ink using a fine paintbrush, then
cut them out. I stamped the bubble design from the texture set on the edges of
the heart with the violet ink.
I
glued the heart onto the tag and added the 3 cut out flowers. As a finishing
touch, I stamped my chosen affirmation on black card with embossing ink and
heat embossed it with white detail powder. I cut the text into tiles and glued
them on to my tag.
As
mentioned above, we have a great new challenge for you today over at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog with a great prize for the randomly drawn winner.
Have
a great weekend and see you next week.
