We are very excited to announce another 2 additions to our DT - Melina Dahl and Bev Hilton who are also joining us to showcase That's Crafty! own brand products. We'd like to wish Melina and Bev a very warm welcome to the team.
Today I am happy to share with you my very first blog
post as a That's Crafty! brand DT member.
I have used:
Wire and Glue
I started by painting the MDF surface with white, blue
and green acrylic paint. I dabbed it on with my brush to get a light, dreamy
look to the background.
I stamped the images from the Serena set on watercolour
paper and fussy cut them out. The wings from Lynne´s Affirmations Set I stamped
with clear embossing ink, used white embossing powder, heat set it and then
fussy cut. Serena´s dress I just drew on a scrap piece of watercolor paper and
cut out.
I coloured all the images with Distress markers and
Distress ink pads. For the hearts and leaves I used them as watercolour using a
water brush. I added colour through Dinky stencil 011 on the hair and through
the 8x8 stencil 8005 on the dress. On the dress I added some doodling in black
and white.
When all the pieces where coloured and dried I started
to assemble my piece. I stamped Serena directly on the MDF board to get the
details and then added my paper pieces.
On the bottom MDF part, I used a pokey tool to make
holes and used a small amount of glue to my wire pieces and pushed them into
place. I then glued the hearts and leaves in place.
And last I stamped the quote from Lynne´s Affirmations
set 2 and made the black border using stencil WS004.
